Obsidian Ebony is a Canadian man-made product, engineered entirely from real, sustainable Maple wood.
It is not paper or composite -- it is impregnated wood and torrefied to provide consistent color and showcase the wood grains.
The main goal is to provide an alternative to ebony fretboards by using solid wood and not composite material, as ebony is very difficult to obtain and good quality material is even harder to get.
Through collaboration with major industry players such as Fender and Martin, Obsidian Ebony has been validated as a superior, sustainable choice, ushering in a new era of responsible instrument manufacturing.
